Slow internet speeds(~300mbps) for a brand new XB8 on a 1.2GB plan
I just activated my 1.2GB plan yesterday (June 24, 2026) using Xfinity Gateway (XB8) I picked up also yesterday from the Xfinity store locally.
Connected the XB8 to the coax jack on my apartment using the included coax cable.
After activation, I can only get less 300mbps internet speeds using the Xfinity app and doing internet speed test from my PC connected directly to one of the XB8 LAN port.
I've done several restarts of the XB8 per your troubleshooting guide but still same internet speeds.
Note that there are the only 2 devices connected to the XB8, i.e. my mobile phone on wifi and my desktop PC on wired (Cat6) connection to one of its LAN ports.
This looks like the XB8 has not been provisioned correctly and may have the wrong boot file pushed to it during activation.
Can you please verify my XB8 has the correct configuration (provision/1.2GB boot file loaded)? My understanding is you can do this remotely.
Please let me know your findings.

Looks like it is working properly now.
After a restart of the XB8 gateway this morning, internet speeds are now up to the plan and consistent too.
