Slow connection 90 Mbps vs 800 Mbps
I have a 800 Mbps internet service and a Motorola MB8611 Multi-gig modem. However, when I do a speed test I only get 90 Mbps max. I have steady blue lights on the front panel which in theory should mean that I'm getting full 800 Mbps speed. However, the LAN jack on the back panel is lighted yellow. Per manual, this means that I only have 100 Mbps on the LAN. When I log in to the modem I see multiple channels locked and this line at the top
Acquire Downstream Channel | 525000000 Hz | Locked |
Any suggestions? Thanks

HI there @user_9a40a9, thank you for reaching out about the trouble with your MB8611.
There are multiple posts and threads about this, but this one has a lot of good information that sounds like it might be relevant in your case: MB8611 Problems and this one too: Motorola Mb8611 Not All Upstream Locking. Have you noticed T3 Timeouts in your logs as well?

That usually means either the device you are connecting to has only a 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet adapter, or a substandard (less than 5e) or defective Ethernet cable.

I tried my modem with an Asus gaming router and an LG laptop using different cables and getting the same result. In the case of the LG, I connected it directly to the modem

What's the Ethernet link speed say when you connect the LG directly to the X1?
Linux: # sudo ethtool eth0 -or- sudo ethtool eth0 | grep Speed: (where eth0 is the device name for ethernet)
BSD: # ifconfig
Windows: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-determine-wi-fi-and-ethernet-connection-speed-windows-10

Well i have fixed perplexing speed issues by simple uninstalling my network card, rebooting and it reinstalls it, sometimes fixing a possible corrupt driver etc...
