Setting Up 2nd Internet Access

I'm paying for the 1200 high-speed connection, however, I'm lucky if I get a little over half of the up and down speed. I have run numerous speed testing and they all come in well under what I should be getting. I understand that the speed changes at times if you have multiple connections either in the house or up the line from me. If that is the case then what am I paying for again? I also work from home and do a multitude of video conferences and presentations. I only have the internet at my home since we watch everything via the internet vice pay for cable or phone service we never use anyway. I wanted to ask about getting 2nd drop in my home so I can split off some of my other equipment and have a dedicated connection for my two computers and NAS network. I use these for my work. They are all connected via Cat 6E and my main PC is connected using Cat 8 Ultra High speed and bandwidth connection to the cable modem. On my side, there is ZERO lag. So that can only mean that the connection bandwidth coming to me, may have some issues that need to be looked at. I didn't mention that my wife is doing all her college work online and also needs the higher bandwidth. My daughter is also doing homeschooling and needs the heavy bandwidth. At one time I did see that we could go up to 2GB downloading but I don't see that option anymore. So looking into getting a 2nd separate internet connection to my home seems the only option. I have my own cable modem (Nighthawk 4GB direct connect speed with WIFI 6E).

First. What is the exact model number of that Nighthawk device ?

And FWIW, they generally do not allow two services / modems at a single residential address.

I thought the same thing but they did say it was possible. At least I could ask. The model I have is an 8-stream AX WIFI6E Gateway cable Modem. I do not have any blocks or throttles in place. I do have my firewalls and other protection up but I have checked all my speeds and pings with and without my firewalls and security and the results have always come back within a few points. I run my VPN while just doing normal day-to-day stuff. At night if I choose to play a game then I might depend on the game go off VPN.

Hardware Version CAX80
