Set up new Xfinity Gateway without smartphone

How do I set up my new Xfinity Gateway without a smartphone?  (There is an answered question for this, but it is four years old, and the link given for the instructions is dead).

Try calling 1-855-652-3446. That is their self-install device activation line. Have the RF / CM / HFC MAC address and the serial number of it handy when you call.

Happy Friday Cat57 👋 I hope you're having a great day, and am excited to hear about your new Xfinity gateway! If you don't have a smartphone available to activate the gateway through our Xfinity app or website, our community Expert EG is correct in that one of the ways you can complete your activation is by calling the number they provided with the information that will be located on your modem. 

Alternatively, we are happy to collaborate with you to complete the activation directly through our community channel! If you'd like to speak with us directly to help with your gateway, please send us a direct chat message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the full service address associated with your account to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the chat icon located at the top right of this forums' page 👍
