Set up new Arris SB8200 has internet if I plug directly into it, but no router/AP will recognize an internet connect.
Like the title states I just got a new Arris SB8200 and was able to set it up with my xfinity service. I can plug right into with my laptop and get the 200+ down advertised. However when I tried plugging it into 2 different wifi routers both of them say there is no internet connection. I have attempted to reset the routers and even the modem itself with no resolution. Thoroughly confused.

Unless you have set the devices to have the same Ethernet MAC address, it's necessary to reset the cable modem (reset button or power cycle) whenever you change the device directly connected to it.
