If you are not using any Xfi Pods, you can try separating the 2.4 and the 5.0 bands and give them two different broadcast names / SSID's;

If Im reading the poster correctly, the two bands are already separate.. No need to do anything.

Im primarily a hardwired user but, from X-Fi page I believe that name and passwords for 2.4 and 5 can be different which would have the same effect, desired outcome? No?

Not that it makes difference, but what are we trying to accomplish by "Separating"

 Thanks and good luck.

Really ? They asked about how to separate them..... BTW, no they are not separate any longer....

There is a big difference when they are combined which Comcast is now doing by default and firmware change pushes whether the customers like it or not. And there have been many many posts here indicating that it is a huge problem.

My standard spiel;

The two WiFi bands have recently been combined into one with the Comcast gateway devices. Some devices get confused and don't know how to see / talk to combined bands.

Associate the devices with the 2.4 or the 5.0 (whichever one works) band's SSID (broadcast name) and password.
