Self Activation

I connect my laptop to the modem i just purchased and I get a "WalledGarden" page telling me to use the xfinity app.  I go to my phone and open the app, put in the CM MAC and it sits for quite a while then says something went wrong.  The modem is a MB8611, it is obviously connecting to the network if I can get to a page saying I need to activate with the app.  I cannot find a phone number to call for support so here I am...

Honestly, I don’t like that change to the activation website either.

by any chance do you see anything under the app description on the website saying

“If you are in a WiFi Ready apartment (pre-installed xFi Gateway) or activating your Xfinity Voice click here to begin.”

If you do, try clicking on the blue “here” link on that page and see if it’ll let you proceed through the older online method that way.

The regular 800 numbers such as 800-COMCAST or 800-XFINITY would also suffice to get to someone who can activate it as well.

try calling 1-855-652-3446. That is their device activation line.


If that doesn't work for you, you can call 1-800-comcast and tell a rep that you would like to have a new modem provisioned for service. Have the RF / CM / HFC MAC address and the serial number of it handy when you call.
