WPA is the current standard.  It does not protect you from downloading malicious attachments, emails, etc.  You have to not get into the habit of clinking on links in emails, staying off websites that host malware, etc. You also have to understand that the old wives tale that apple products are not prone to malware is, and always has been, a lie.  It you go randomly clicking in links in emails, social media, etc, you will get infected again.
