Second IP address for Arris SB cable modem
Hi all.
I have a hobby project that I'm working on and it would help enormously if I could obtain - even for a short period of time - a second publicly routable DHCP address.
intended configuration: my own Arris Surfboard modem, unmanaged 5-port GigE hub, hub connected to two ASUS gateways - each of which wants its own DHCP address from Comcast.
Just for fun, I tried out this configuration, and Comcast/XFInity will allocate just the one IP address to my physical cable modem; one of the gateways grabs it first, and the other one is out in the cold...
I've seen other posts where folks requesting additional DHCP addresses for home use were asked to check their local rate card to see whether "additional IP address" is available. I checked; it's not available on my rate card - but I'm asking to see whether there's anyone from Comcast on here who can check whether that's accurate.
Thank you very much.

They are phasing it out but I'm going to escalate your issue to the Comcast corporate employees that are available to these boards. We've seen cases here where they have been able to get this accomplished for customers even when it is not listed in their rate cards, YMMV. You should get a reply here in your topic. Good luck !
