Scheduled maintenance/outage notifications
In my 14 years of using xFinity internet service, I never received a single notification of scheduled maintenance or outages. The outages were numerous, usually between the hours of midnight and 5am, when I use my internet the most, for streaming. Since i have no cell signal indoors, I had to go outside to call Comcast each time to ask for a credit, only to be told by the automated system that it was "scheduled maintenance", which I was never told about, and without being able to reach a human being about it. I would have to call the next day after the outage ended to request a credit, usually $5 - $10. Each time, I asked to receive schedule maintenance notifications. And at the next outage, I never received one. Finally, a wireless ISP moved into the neighborhood, and installed an antenna on my roof. They notify me of any maintenance every time, usually days in advance, sometimes as long as 10 days ahead. The speed however is only 300/30, vs the 1200/200 I had before with Comcast, although their cost is also far less. I miss the speed, but not the outages without notifications.
Is there still no way to get scheduled maintenance notifications with xFinity ? And does one still have to make numerous phone calls to get credit for any unscheduled outage, or scheduled maintenance one was not notified about ?
