"SCHEDULED" maintenance and issues that follow

Suddenly internet stops working around midnight.  Open the app and see it says "SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE" should be back up 5:45 AM.

1st is comcast / xfinity complete lack of notification of service interrupt.

2nd every time they do this, it takes phone calls to figure out what is wrong and magically it starts working before the several day away appointment

Anyone else experience such poor notification and resolution?  Seems every time they mess with the system I am the only one that has "issues" according to them.  Since their coverage overlaps another provider, knowing who is on their service is not easy so I can not tell if it's a single case or a blanket issue in the area.

I have experienced this so much lately. Scheduled maintenance and no improvement at all.

Xfinity showed up today.  Did every test they could, replaced the ends on the cables and installed a missing filter.

NONE of that fixed the issue.  I could see in the modem log that it said "ACCESS DENIED".  Guessing Xfinity changed something in their system during the maintenance and it no longer allows my modem to communicate with their system (again on the complete opacity of information here) and the only way to get back up and running to day was to get one of their modems.

Scam to get another $15+ per month out of customers.  If you cannot own the equipment they should supply it for free.

Hey there, @jl213! Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to us here on the Xfinity Forums! I do want to say I am very sorry to hear about the experience with scheduled maintenance and the notifications, it certainly is not what we want for our customers. We do send out proactive notifications for service interruptions that are not planned, but we are always looking for the ways to improve the customers experience so we will document having it available for Scheduled Maintenance.

I do see your comment about the appointment and still not communicating with your modem. I would like to dive into the account further with you. Can you please send us a DM to get started?
