SB8200 - request a second IP address

I just purchased the Arris SB8200 for my home not knowing you need additional IP addresses to make the second port work so I can hard wire my computer and router at the same time. I want the computer hard wired to be able to utlize the high speeds I am paying for. Can you please tell me how to get that second port operational, do I need to purchase a second IP from you now?

Thanks

You should just be able to plug your router into the working modem port, then your computer into the router, you should get full speed if you have everything configured correctly, no need for a second IP address

Thanks for your email, I tried that and it only transfers at a rate of 300+ MBPS, when I connect directly it is 900+ MBPS. I have the NETGEAR Nighthawk X6 AC3200 Tri-Band WiFi Router - R8000 and reading about it looks like it should work but doesnt.

Thanks...

Are there any QoS settings in the router enabled ? If so, try disabling them and see.
