Samsung Smart TV stopped connecting

For the past few days, my internet has been slow. I have reset and restarted both my modem (Gateway XB8) and router. Tonight, I am able to connect to the internet on my phone and computer, but my Samsung Smart TV will not connect. I have restarted my modem, completely reset and set up my wifi, and unplugged the TV. The IP address shows as 0.0.0.0. I have tried to manually put in the IP settings, but nothing I've done has worked.

leighannpfl  Thank you for reachin gout via our Xfinity Community Forum regarding this connection issue. It sounds like you've already taken several troubleshooting steps to address the issue with your Samsung Smart TV not connecting to the internet. Since you've restarted your modem, reset your Wi-Fi, and even attempted to manually input IP settings without success, there might be a few more things we can explore.
  1. Check Network Settings on TV: Ensure that the network settings on your Samsung Smart TV are correctly configured. Double-check the SSID (Wi-Fi network name) and password to make sure they match your router settings.

  2. Firmware Update: Check if there's a firmware update available for your Samsung Smart TV. Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause connectivity issues. You can usually find this option in the TV's settings menu.

  3. Router Configuration: Review the settings on your router to see if there are any restrictions or configurations that might be blocking the TV's connection. Sometimes, MAC address filtering or firewall settings can interfere with device connectivity.

  4. Network Interference: Consider if there are any new electronic devices in your home that might be causing interference with your Wi-Fi signal. Devices like cordless phones or microwave ovens operating on the same frequency as your Wi-Fi can disrupt the connection.

  5. Factory Reset: As a last resort, you may want to try performing a factory reset on your Samsung Smart TV. This will revert all settings to their default state and might resolve any underlying software issues causing the connectivity problem.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it might be worth contacting Samsung's customer support for further assistance, especially if the problem persists despite troubleshooting efforts. They may be able to provide specific guidance tailored to your TV model and any known issues. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
