Samsung Q60B QLED Smart TV Crashes Internet

Yesterday morning, Xfinity rolled out some kind of system update in our area.  Since that time, we have been having issues with our router not being able to connect to the internet.  After several calls to tech support & trouble shooting measures (changed coax cables, reset connection on Xfinity's end, factory resetting router on my end, etc.) we were still having some kind of weird gremlin in the system.  After one last full reset, I finally just went through and manually connected a single device at a time to try to narrow down the problem.

Turns out, any time that our the Samsung QLED TV tried to connect to the internet, it brought the whole system down.  This happened no matter the connection type - wired ethernet & both 2.4 and 5 GHz Wifi both crashed the system equally hard.  I suspect that whatever software update Xfinity made yesterday is not compatible with something in Samsung's software, somehow.  The TV has worked just fine since we bought it about 6 months ago.

Is anyone else having issues with Smart TVs breaking their internet lately?

Thank you for reaching out to our Xfinity Forums, @flevans. I am sorry you are having the issues you are with the smart TV. I do know that the Xfinity Stream app is no longer available on 2017 Samsung and LG smart TVs. What year is your TV?

Due to technical limitations, the Xfinity Stream app won’t work as it’s supposed to on an outdated browser. These TVs can’t update to new web browsers.
