Routing/Peering Issue – Packet Loss Between Comcast and Zayo (Affects NBA 2K26 Servers on PS5)
I’m seeing persistent connection failures with NBA 2K26 on PS5, even though my overall internet connection is excellent.
All other online services (PlayStation Network, Netflix, etc.) work perfectly.
The issue only occurs on Comcast—if I switch my PS5 to a 5G mobile hotspot, the game connects instantly.
This looks like a routing/peering problem between Comcast and Zayo in the Chicago area (specifically around the 350 E Cermak hand-off).
I’ve attached my traceroute below which clearly shows packet loss after the Comcast → Zayo transition.

Summary
No packet loss or latency within Comcast’s own network.
Loss begins after the Zayo hand-off near hop 11.
Same pattern appears on multiple traces to nba2k.com and prod.live-services.2k.com.
The behavior is consistent across days and reproduces 100 % of the time.
Could a moderator please escalate this to the regional network engineering/NOC team for review of the Comcast–Zayo peering route in Chicago?
This appears to be a mid-network issue affecting multiple gamers in the area, not a local wiring or equipment fault.
