routing issue

Dear Xfinity Routing Team,

For past 2 days, I see traffic destined for Ashburn has been routed from Atlanta to Florida then handed over to Open-Transit.

is this normal?

Latency is around 180 ms - Not sure this is normal.

Because this is causing packet losses to reach destination.

May i request you to check routing?

thank you!

The last hop in that trace output that responds to ICMP trace probes (hop 10) belongs to Orange Business.com which was formerly known as being France Telecom. Traces and GeoIP lookups point to that hop being in Paris, France. RTT's/latency figures greater than 100 ms are to be expected considering the distance between Florida and Europe.

217.109.239.92 is in France. Those RTT's are about right. Glad you got it sorted out !

@user_fitfo4  Thanks for reaching out about your connection concerns.

What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

Can you tell us how often this happens and when it started?
