router

I have a electric car charger and it was working fine with my old router, then xfinity sent me a XB7-T and not my charger will not connect.  Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you get it fixed.

The two WiFi bands SSID's have recently been combined into one with the Comcast gateway devices. Some devices get confused and don't know how to see / talk to combined SSID's.

If you are not using any Xfi Pods, you can try separating the 2.4 and the 5.0 names and give them two different broadcast names / SSID's;

Associate the device with the new / respective 2.4 or 5.0 SSID (broadcast name) and password (whichever one works).

I have an XB7 model and per your website the solution of separating the 2.4 and 5.0 is not available.  What do I do now?  Do I need to revert back to an older Gateway?

  • Customers with xFi Advanced Gateways (XB6 or newer): Most of these Gateways have been upgraded with software that manages advanced WiFi settings automatically to help optimize your home network and provide the best performance possible. Advanced WiFi settings for Gateways with this software enhancement are not visible and cannot be managed from the Admin Tool or Xfinity xFi.

We can help with this. Let's meet in DM to get started.

To send a direct message [private message]:

  •    Click "Sign In" if necessary
  •    Click the "Direct Message" icon or https://comca.st/3L6vRuU
  •    Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  •    The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.
  •    - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
  •    - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.
  •    Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  •    Press Enter to send it

I no longer work for Comcast.
