Router

I was told the lights on my router indicate wether it is connected and that if the light on the 2.4 & 5.0 is blinking that means they are currently in use. Is this true or is there more to it?

Not necessarily. The firmware that is loaded into the device can basically cause the indicator lights to behave in whatever fashion that the manufacturer desires.

According to the user manual, the light being lit  steadily means that the WiFi band is enabled, and flashing indicates computer / device  activity. And off means that it is disabled. This is quite typical of most routers / gateway devices;

The reason I am asking if there is more to it is because all my devices are only 2.4 capable and if the 5.0 light is blinking dose that mean there is a device or devices connected to it ?

Ok so the blinking light dose not necessarily mean it is in use. And there may be other reasons that the light blinks. Thank you for your help in clearing up that issue for me.
