router too loud

My router is awfully loud. I noticed it the past couple days. I don't know that it's always been this loud. What can I do about this?

This is a known issue.  You will have to take it to the nearest xfinity store for a replacement.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to reach out to us here on our Xfinity Forums! I'm truly sorry to hear that your router is making louder than usual noises. Can you tell me a little bit more about what's happening? Is it a noise from a fan or a different sort of noise? Is the router warmer than usual to the touch?

It does sound like a loud fan I guess. I touched it and it's pretty warm. I never really touched it before so I don't know if that's more than usual. :-/

We would like to look deeper into this concern. Please send us a private message with your name and address.

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.

   - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.

   - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

   Press Enter to send it.

Not sure what an email exchange will do.  The unit needs to be replaced.  You can do so by taking it to the nearest xfinity store.  Using at it is is not a good idea.  It could stop functioning at any time, as the fan bearing failure is a know issue.  Get it replaced.  Don't waste days exchanging emails.
