Router speed
Hello. I have a question about router speeds, I want to upgrade my cable package which includes 1000mbs (up to). My router/modem is a netgear c6300 which I installed the other day. What I need to know is this: my Netgear c6300 will do speeds up 325mbs. If I upgrade my internet package, do I need to buy a new router/modem that says it will use speeds up to 1000 mbs or can I keep my Netgear and it will only use speeds up to 325mbs?
Thanks in advance

The 6300 is only a DOCSIS 3.0 capable device. You need to use a DOCSIS 3.1 capable device to get gig speed, and even to get the advertised 35 Mbps upload speed of the gig speed tier.

See https://www.xfinity.com/support/devices. Comcast rates the MG7700 for plan speeds "Up to 860 Mbps". You need an approved compatible DOCSIS 3.1 modem for gigabit.
Note that although the heading for the item you linked says "1000 Mbps Maximum Docsis 3.0", the images and the product selection table under "Product Description" at https://www.amazon.com/MOTOROLA-MG7700-AC1900-Gigabit-Maximum/dp/B07BRZ2KW5#aplus all say that the maximum Internet download speed on Comcast systems is 600 Mbps.

This ad at Amazon contradicts your statement that Docsis 3.1 is needed. Again, not real sure but this makes me doubt.

Whatever.... Good thing you believe in advertising HYPE..... That24/2 device alone doesn't even cut it.... It isn't even 32 by 8, they still wouldn't push a gigabit config file to a DOCSIS 3.0 device........
