Router return/switching brands

​I wanted to just confirm something prior to returning and purchasing my Wi-Fi router. Wpuld there be any issue with me using the “ExpressVPN Aircove Wi-Fi 6 Router” ?​

You still need to use a cable modem with that router, or you can place the Xfinity combo gateway device in to bridge mode so that it acts only as a straight cable modem and use the Aircove router with it. I recommed doing the former.

You will not be able to troubleshoot or reset the Aircove router through the Xfinity app.

​3. ​Would you be able to tell if my speed would be the same or increase lol definitely don’t want it slower bc of the router.

Which speed tier are you subscribed to ? That Aircove router has only 10/100/1000 ethernet ports. You would need a router that has 2.5 gig ethernet ports if you have their Gigabit speed tier and wanted to get the full speeds of that tier via a wired connection. It should be OK via WiFi 6 however.

4. Would I still be able to have the parental controls, ability to sort what up address goes to which child profile with their set internet allowed times?​

It depends on whether or not the Aircove has that feature built in to its firmware load. You would no longer have it through the Xfinity app / system. Question. Just curious. Is there a specific reason why you want / need a router with a built in VPN feature ?
