Router not letting me open ports

I'm fairly tech savvy and yet this problem has me stomped and so this morning I tried to open a port and I got this error

I have gone though lots of different forms and still cant find a solution to my problem.

what I have tried:

1: Restarting the router

2: Restarting the computer that im trying to port on (cant port to anything)

3: Disabled advanced security

4: Tried making a DMZ

5: Tried to change the setting from a remote(out of next work) connection

And I still get this error all I want is to make a server for me and my friends to play on

If you plan on creating a server, your best option is to buy your own modem and router.  You will not have much fine grained control over *ANY* leased xfinity device.  Suggest you buy separate units (modem and router), that way you can upgrade later without having to replace both units.

I agree with your recommendation.

My son recently moved to Port Angeles, Washington and he signed up with a cable internet company I had never heard of.

Anyway, the ISP is extremely helpful and transparent about how internet networks work.

That ISP recommended getting an ARRIS SURFboard S33 DOCIS 3.1 modem and a separate router.

And, my son got this information from them for me:

DOCSIS standards dictate that only Internet Service Providers can distribute cable modem firmware updates to cable modem devices.
1. CommScope ( www.commscope.com ) develops firmware updates for cable modems and
2. CommScope makes the cable modem firmware update available to Internet Service Providers.
3. The Internet Service Providers qualify and test the cable modem firmware update and then
4. The Internet Service Providers distribute the cable modem firmware update to the cable modems on the Internet Service Provider's network.
note: CommScope has limited control or visibility on distribution by the service providers.

note: The manufacturer of your modem has no control or knowledge of the firmware that is running on your cable modem
note: The owners (end-users) of cable modems cannot simply install an update like most other network-enabled devices.

So, understand that Comcast has complete control of your cable modem and Comcast will provide no information in regard to how your modem works.

CommScope develops the firmware that runs on your cable modem and CommScope will provide no information to you regarding your modem or how it works.

The opposite is true if you own your own router.
You have complete control over the firmware that runs on your router.
You can gain complete understanding on how your router works and you will find a large community of other owners who can provide help on using your router.

Here is information from Xfinity about using your modem:
