Router is failing
One of our laptops stopped connecting on July 6, though it was nothing, just the laptop being broken
Starting last week, our entire internet was not working; restarting the router fixed it
Now I am having to restart 1-2 times a day, and it is becoming annoying.
The problems:
2.4 GHz will not connect on some devices
Internet will connect to either band, but not give Internet
5 GHz is extremely unstable
Attempted Solutions:
Restarting router (temporary fix, for 12-24 hours)
using all the troubleshooting in the mobile app (says nothing is wrong...)
Note: I know you are gonna test it and say something is wrong with the wiring to our house (this was said 10 times already in the last 20 years)
A new router so far has fixed the problem every single time.

If a 'new router fixes it every time', and each of those routers has gone bad, then you probably do have an issue with the wiring in your home. You should have a qualified electrician check it. It is rare for a home to have to go through multiple routers.

I mean, the tends to happen every 3-ish years
Routers are not meant to last forever; this is just a quicker one than last time
Also, the issue they mentioned was with the cable through the house, causing the problem and not the router (When it in fact was the router)
But I fail to see how that would ever lead to a router failing due to that. (Especially in this case, since it seems the router's transmitter has gone bad, since the router is receiving internet just fine)

I would appreciate it if official support would respond, as soon as possible, cause it is getting worse (had to restart 3 times this morning to get it to work).
I am pretty sure that within a week, it will have completely failed by then.

Hey there klem4 👋 I appreciate you being an active member of our community with your post, and even more so for your efforts in getting the connection drops addressed on your end! It's certainly not normal for gateways to be replaced so frequently, and I definitely know how hard it is to get through my day when the internet is acting up, so I'd be happy to look into this further to see what can be done!
Please send us a direct chat message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the full service address associated with your account to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the chat icon located at the top right of this forums page.
