Most ring doorbell/camera models are going to require a 2.4G WiFi connection for internet/networking. Some models can do 5G WiFi, but it depends on the model. The only thing the wired part does is supply power. Xfinity gateways default to WiFi 6 these days if you are using one of those, so your ring doorbell won't see the Wifi.
If you are using newer Xfinity gear, and are not using Xfinity Pods (xfinity range extenders), you can try changing "WiFi Modes" on your gateway with the phone app. I don't think you can change WiFi modes anymore by logging in locally to the gateway. This page is really dated, but outlines the general idea.

Assign different broadcast names (SSID) for the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks. 2.4Ghz signals do a bit better traveling through walls and construction materials than higher frequency, so try to connect your doorbell to the 2.4Ghz. Distance to the gateway also comes into play when trying to push signal through a wall. Closer is better.
If you are using Xfinity Pods, then you'd need to get an access point that has a 2.4Ghz radio in it (802.11b).
