Reset Motorola MB8600?
I upgraded to a Hitron CODA56. before setting the new cable modem up, I tried to go into the admin of the MB8600. It forced me to change the user name and password, and I did. Oddly it won't let me in with the new credentials. I tried the old but that didn't work either. The thing is very sensitive that 2 tries disables login until another 15 mins after. Do it too early, it's another 15 mins.
I don't have much use for it right now so I wanted to fiddle with it some more just cuz.. and so I can see what the whole admin UI is.
What is a way to reset it completely? it's not on the manual or on motorola's site.

Try the toothpick hole reset button on the back of it. Hold it for 10 seconds or until the lights start flashing.

Access to the internal workings of a modem without being connected to an ISP would be up to the manufacturer. I would imagine that as any new modem to be used for an internet connection would need to be assigned and provisioned to your active internet subscription it may need to be added as the modem to be used. 2 modems cannot be assigned to one account. There can be 2 subscriptions of internet service at one home, if each is paid for, then each can have a modem assigned.
