Request to Disable SIP ALG on My Router

I work from home and have been experiencing audio issues. I’ve been advised that disabling SIP ALG (Session Initiation Protocol Application Layer Gateway) on my home router may resolve this problem.

Can you please either:

  1. Disable SIP ALG on my router remotely, or
  2. Provide me with clear step-by-step instructions to do this myself.

If this is an Xfinity-rented gateway device, it can't be disabled. One way to deal with the SIP ALG option is to configure Xfinity-provided Gateway into bridge mode, and get your own router that has SIP ALG as an available and configurable feature. Good luck !

Thank you for reaching out here @user_tykyvx. The information provided by @EG is correct, that cannot be disabled on the Xfinity modem. We can assist you from here if you have questions on the bridge mode with an owned router.
