Request to cancel internet service online

Subject: Formal Billing Dispute — Failure to Process Cancellation Request

I am formally disputing charges on my Xfinity account and requesting retroactive cancellation of service.

I permanently vacated my former service address on approximately August 31, 2026, where I was a customer of Xfinity.

In approximately late September 2026, I personally visited the Xfinity Store by Comcast in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, bringing my Xfinity equipment with me.

I explicitly informed the Comcast representative that I wanted to cancel my account and return my equipment.

The representative informed me that the store could not process my request because Comcast's East Coast and West Coast regional systems were incompatible. I was therefore unable to complete either the cancellation or equipment return through that location.

Despite my explicit cancellation request at an official Comcast retail store, my account has remained active, and I have continued to be billed.

I am requesting the following resolution:

  1. Immediate termination of my Xfinity account, retroactively effective August 31, 2026, with all subsequent recurring service charges refunded or credited.

  2. At a minimum, recognition of my explicit cancellation request in late September 2026 as the effective termination date, with all subsequent recurring service charges reversed.

  3. A prepaid shipping label for returning all Comcast-owned equipment, without another in-person store visit.

  4. Waiver of any equipment-related penalties attributable to the store's refusal to accept my return, subject to my completing the return.

  5. A corrected, itemized final statement and written confirmation that my account is closed.

I made a clear, good-faith attempt to cancel my account through an official Comcast retail location. Comcast's internal regional systems prevented its representative from fulfilling that request.

I do not believe it is reasonable to continue charging me for service after an explicit cancellation request that Comcast was unable to process.

Please escalate this dispute to the appropriate billing or customer relations department and provide a written response, including a case number. Please have an Xfinity Support representative authorize a direct message.

Thank you.
