Replacement/upgraded gateway

Xfinity is upgrading my service and with it Ill receive a new gateway.  Will this new gateway arrive pre-configured with the settings my current gateway has?  The rep seemed to think all I would have to do is dc the old gateway and plug in the new one.  Is this a truly plug and play scenario?

Hi user_q1iwlt, you can manage all your network settings through the Xfinity app, so you will just need to follow the steps 'Here' to activate the new gateway once it arrives. To avoid any unreturned equipment fees, you will need to return the old gateway as well, however; we have some convenient return options that you can check out 'Here'. Have you already received the new gateway?

Gateway arrived configured with my account settings.  Setup was easy, experienced no issues.  Subsequently activated bridge mode to connect to a new mesh network.  All systems up and running well.
