Replacement modem
I received an email stating:
We've increased your speeds.
Update your device to take advantage
of faster speeds
of faster speeds
So I had Comcast ship a new router/modem. I received the exact same modem I already have, and it appears to be at an older software revision level. (It is an Arris TG1682G as is the old modem - it is a voice/data modem in case that matters). I hate to have to reconfigure my home network if I don't need to. I called tech suppport and they were of no help. I'm going to send back the "new" modem unless someone at Comcast can assure me this one is different than my current one.
Thanks

The firmware version doesn't matter, It's the speed configuration file that they push to the modem does. Which speed tier are you actually subscribed to ?
