Replace XB3 gateway with Arris SCG2482AC gateway
I have read most of the Xfinity articules, but I am still a little confused. I want to replace my Xfinity XB3 gateway (with phone) and purchase an Arris SCG2482AC gateway (with phone). I have verified all the specs and it is listed as a compatable replacement. The Xfiniry articles state that I may lose "xFi WiFi management platform or usage of home based WiFi extras". What does that mean? What will I lose, if anything in simple terms. Any help would be great!

Ya you can only put so much weight in whats on the internet... That modem sounds like a nice unit however couple reviews refer to non compatibility with 1Gbps service plan which appears to be accurate based on info here https://www.xfinity.com/support/devices/#auth
Otherwise I would go to https://www.xfinity.com/support/devices/#auth and check the service plan, modems compatible, and go from there.
Just my .2 cents.
Ultimately the questions would be best answered by xfinity rep.
Thanks and good luck.

It's SVG You'll lose anything that is only capable of being accessed by their Xfi app (which isn't much anyway) that you can't access through the user interface pages of the gateway itself.
That Xfi app is mostly for their supplied gateway devices which have many of any options disabled / dumbed down anyway.....
