Repeated daily outages since early August — no resolution, no communication
I’ve been dealing with unreliable internet service since the start of this month. It may have been an issue earlier, but it wasn’t noticeable until now — this month, my service has gone out multiple times a day, ranging from a few minutes to several hours, and occasionally an entire day. There’s no consistent time pattern; it happens randomly throughout the day. As I write this post, my internet is currently down.
I work from home and rely on this connection to earn my living. This service has gone down in the middle of meetings I was conducting and while I was actively speaking — which is not just inconvenient, it’s damaging to my professional credibility. As a paying customer, this level of service disruption is unacceptable.
These outages also take down my Xfinity TV service, and coincidentally, my Xfinity Mobile service doesn’t work well either during these outages — which raises questions about how isolated these “issues” really are across your services.
I’ve called customer service multiple times and received little beyond occasional account credits. I appreciate the gesture, but credits don’t fix the problem — I need working internet.
On my most recent call (Saturday), I asked about disconnecting service. The representative talked me out of it, saying Xfinity was doing upgrades in my area and service would stabilize within a few days. If that’s true, why hasn’t there been any proactive notification to affected customers? A known, area-wide issue should come with an outage alert or status update — not something customers only learn about when they call in frustrated.
I’m asking for:
1. A clear explanation of what’s happening in my area and an actual timeline for resolution
2. Proactive communication/status updates instead of having to call in every time
3. A real fix — not just credits
At this point I’m seriously evaluating other providers. I’d rather stay with Xfinity if this gets resolved, but I need the service to actually work.
