Remove splitter in outside box

Yes. I can't say for sure that it will improve your "speeds", but it will improve your RF signal strength to the modem which may in turn, improve your speeds / connection quality.

Any certain connector you would recommend?

There is one. It is being bypassed by the splitter at present.

You should look at your current modem diagnostics and power level.  The initial installer probably set the power correctly for both with the splitter in place.  You aren't going to help it if the levels are already correct and you aren't having high error levels.  Or if your speed currently hits the level you pay for.

I have blast 150 and only hit about 110.

It is a 2 way splitter. The tech bypassed the grounding block splitter when he added it.
