Recurring Internet Disconnects – Need Help Beyond Basic Troubleshooting

I've been dealing with recurring internet disconnects for quite a while now, and I'm honestly running out of things to try.

My XB8 repeatedly loses connection and goes through the same reboot sequence every time: orange, green, then white. My entire house loses internet, and it usually takes around five minutes before everything comes back online.

I've had numerous technician visits over the years, multiple gateway replacements, outside cable repairs, and investigations into possible wiring issues inside my home. Nothing has permanently resolved it.

Initially, I suspected my gaming PC or network card might be contributing to the problem. I've experienced disconnects while gaming, downloading games, and even when the PC is simply sitting idle. I've also had whole-house outages when the gaming PC wasn't actively being used. When these outages happen, everything in the house loses connectivity, including phones, TVs, and other Wi-Fi devices. The XB8 itself appears to be restarting.

My PC is connected directly to the gateway through Ethernet, and I've also made changes to the network card settings and tested different configurations. None of this has resolved the issue.

The disconnects seem to happen more frequently in the evenings, and sometimes I'll have multiple in one night. I had four separate disconnects today alone.

Something else I've recently noticed is that nearby Wi-Fi networks seem to disappear and come back around the same periods. I haven't confirmed whether they're happening at exactly the same time, but it makes me wonder if there's something going on outside my house.

At this point, I'd really like someone to look into possible upstream signal issues, noise, or problems with the local neighborhood equipment.

I've been through the standard troubleshooting process many times. I'm hoping someone here can help get this escalated beyond another routine gateway reset or replacement.

Thanks for any help.

user_vykkcm Thanks for reaching out to us here on Forums for help with the full disconnection of internet at random times concern, and we would be happy to assist. Given you have done most of the basic troubleshooting I'll skip doing most of it for you as it doesn't seem to help. Based on what you mentioned though I do have to ask if the gateway is connected to a power strip or an outlet with a switch controller. If it's doing a full restart it may just be plugged into a power source that is faulty or may not have a secured connection with the power cable for the device which is a simple fix.

Hi I have the gateway plugged right into an outlet next to it, I have also tried with plugging it into a power strip or another outlet too.
