Recommendation for a modem/router?
I have been a Comcast/Xfinity customer for two years now, and when we signed up for the service, we were told that we had to use their modem/router. So I've been "renting" this thing for $13/month now, and am about to cancel the service since the costs have escallated while the router seems to be diminishing more and more in range.
I would like to continue with Comcast for internet access, but have no idea what I need. We will have up to 12 devices connected (garage doors, thermostats, PCs, iPhones, etc.). We mainly use the network for internet access, but plan to use it for TV service.
What would you recommend we buy, and can you also recommend a booster? At the farthest point from the router, the signal is pretty terrible.
Thank you in advance!

That's right, I need it for streaming TV, Internet and the various smart home devices that connect. The big issue we have is range, but speed is also an issue at times.
We've the router about as centrally located as we can manage, and the signal is just not as strong as we'd need for TV streaming. That is, our basement entertainment center is currently the hard wired DVR/Xfinity system. When we try to watch something that requires wifi, the signal is only so-so.
Thanks for the input!
