Recent Xfinity change has made online gaming near impossible

For months prior to this I never had a single issue with xfinity or my internet connection. In fact, because of where my apartment is, if I didn’t have xfinity wifi i would practically be unable to use my phone. However there was a change probably about 8/9 weeks ago that had resulted in constant disconnects while gaming.

I have gone through two replacement gateways, a new upgraded gateway, new Ethernet cords, trying Xbox vs PS5, wifi only vs hard wire, setting up port forwarding, and using bridge mode. And not one has made a difference. Eventually the disconnect is coming and when it does it is constant.

The upwards of twenty of xfinity agents i have spoken with on the phone or via the live chat have never provided an answer of what changed nor has an offered solution ever been permanent. The only bit about it online i have seen is this write up: https://windowsreport.com/xbox-live-xfinity/ but as I mentioned I find issues on both platforms.

Rarely do I have an issue elsewhere other than gaming. Xbox typically complains about a doubleNAT issue while PSN loses connection. What gives? What changed? Is there going to be a fix?

Update: Xfinity online tech support sent an in person tech, and he said the signal remains strong, which i told him that when it’s working, it works well, but it doesn’t stop the intermittency or packet loss that makes a stable connection unattainable. He put the line on a new port but the problem returned not an hour later.

seems there’s no solution and I’ve seen others on this forum also experiencing consistent packet loss and intermittent connections. Wish there was anything Xfinity was doing to address this

Same problem here. They've done all the same solutions up to and including telling me it was something I am doing.
