RE: not getting the promise speeds by comcast (my case is upload speed)
Over the course of half an hour these are the download speeds I obtained, measured by Ookla Speedetest: Taken a minute or two apart:
1.61, 1.26, 3.26, 3.23, 20.77, 19.0, 62.0, 2.33, 62.44, 81, 77, 72, 1.75, 1.65, 2.27, 8.81, 1.96, 6.16, 35.02, 69.75 , 59.73, 10.00, 3.65, 2.56, 2.65, 49.19, 5.8
We pay for 80.
Has anyone seen bizarre service like this? Is there any rational explanation? WhenI contact Xfinity all they say is, "let's restart your modem". I hae done that twenty times. The current modem is brand new and provided by Xfinity.

Hey there @user_zoqhrd sorry to hear about the repeated slowdown on the internet. We'd love to help out, and there are some amazing resources here on Forums you can take advantage of.
ANSWERED: Tips for troubleshooting your Xfinity Internet connection
This does go over almost every aspect of what can potentially cause issues with your services, and some common solutions as well. Were there tests all done on the same day? Is this issue the same at any time of day? We can help look over your signal levels. Please send a direct message by clicking the chat icon in the upper right corner of the page, clicking on the pen and paper icon, then entering “Xfinity Support” in the “To” section. Please include your name and address, and we'll be happy to help.

Hi there @user_zoqhrd We would be happy to look into this for you.
Please send us a DM with your full name and address to Xfinity Support.
To send a direct message:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Message" icon or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.
As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
