Re: Not getting the 600mbps upgrade

Hello, I just signed up for the promotional upgrade 600Mbps, from 275 Mbps and ran a speed test after the upgrade getting anywhere from 428, to 475 Mbps far cry from at 600 Mbps. When I had the 275 Mbps I was getting 312, 320 Mbps with my Netgear C6300 Modem whic will do up to 680 Mbps. I contacted Comcast they did the prevision updated the database, I did a reset of my modem at least three times still getting the 428 to 475 range. My computer is directly connected via Eithernet, (not wireless), the representative sent out a tech to the house in Half Moon Bay, CA this morning and said everything is good that there's a lot of people home causing the speed. But that they're in the process of adding more nodes but not right now in our community as it isn't over populated like San Mateo Area or Santa Clara for examples.

When I talked to the representative on the phone Sunday, he was trying to push me up to 1000 Mbps as I told him my modem will only do 680 Mbps and then wanted me to pay $14.00 per month for one of their Comcast modems. I explained that it isn't my modem nothing has changed except upgrading to 600 Mbps. So, I'm still using my Netgear C6300 which has been running for 3 years.  If you're planning to upgrade to the higher speeds 600 -1000 Mbps, make sure your modem can handle the compacity first, by doing a Google seach of the model. However, as the technician from Comcast has told me on the coast from Half Moon Bay, El Granada, Moss Beach, Montara, and Pacifica you won't get the speeds of 600 to 1000 Mbps at this time.

If anyone has any other ideas, I'd be happy to hear about them.

______________
That is so true, you have to make sure your modem is also approved by Comcast to do those speeds. Which in your case, they don’t
Checking at this link is more important than googling it
