Re: Ethernet slower than WiFi

I mmade no changes and work with comcast was in my building. Since then ethernet is slower than WIFI to connect.Should I change my plan from 600 MBPS to 1000 MBPS at what cost -I have bulk.

Is the new Comcast cable upgrade in the building a regrssion or what could cause such a long ethernet delay?
I am assking but not getting an answer + would like to know what the reason for the lag is..

If your network card supports 1 gig speeds, try going to your device manager, click on your network card, advanced and where it says speeds set it to auto, sometimes it negotiates the speeds better that way

Speeds vary by device.. if your network only supports 100 down you'll only get things in the 100s. Generally speaking only 100 down. Think about it this way, your home has pipes small and big. The bigger the pipe more data that can flow through it. Smaller the pipe the less data that can flow through. I'd suggest checking your settings and being sure it's set to the manufacturers recommendations or to the highest settings possible.

Additionally please provide us with details such as what operating system you're running, what kind of cable you are using to connect your device to the router with.

As said above, speeds vary by device and are not guaranteed.

Hope this helps.

The unit at Liesure World has about 800 units.

The whole unit was recabled with red cables.

When it did my issue with ethernet lag began.

For years I had noo trouble.

Example- power up, sign in, see colord scren and icon lower right like a globe says identiying, afre 20-30 seconds the icon becomes and antenna and I have internet.

I have a gateway with a router within rented from comast.

Are you saying that you changed to a different colored ethernet cable ?

If not, please try to be more clear as to what you mean.

FWIW, the color of an ethernet cable is basically meaningless. The text markings are all that matter.

They stated; "I made no changes and work with comcast was in my building."

Comcast does not do ethernet wiring. It must be coax cable.

I agree with that. I was trying to interpret what they were saying. Their response was a little challenging to understand. 🙂
