I have problems with disconnects from internet consistently in NJ, and every time I get a tech, I am told, well, you have internet now, you're fine.  No,  when I'm getting thrown out of a meeting with the big boss of my work, it's NOT fine.

First. 

Is this with a WiFi connection ? If so, for a test, does a computer / device hardwired directly to the router / gateway device with an ethernet cable have the same problem ?


With this test, we are trying to isolate this from being either a WiFi-only problem or a problem with the general connection to the Comcast system which would of course affect both. It's a good first step of troubleshooting before we proceed any further.

This happens with an ethernet connection and sometimes on wifi. A couple techs were here on Tuesday and made some changes and swapped out my XB7 for an XB6. They said the XB6 has had problems.

Ethernet is still bad but wifi seems better. I don't know if it could be my computer's ethernet.
