Re: cable modem t25

Looks like they finally updated the firmware on the T25 Arris modem.... I haven't had any disconnects recently but I'm also not going to celeberate just yet since it seems to happen about every 11 days and I'm not sure when this firmware version was pushed. Last time I checked my modems settings/firmware was about 1-2 months ago and I did not have it.

New things I've noticed.... they've updated the security so it now requires credentials to login to the modem settings. There's also some new settings like EEE for power savings, you can adjust the settings for the modems LEDs and a new option to enable Link Aggregation. I tried messing around with link aggregation once in the past just out of curiosity to see if I could get faster or at least more consistent speeds since I have gigabit with comcast but it ended up testing worse. I'm going to give it one more shot since there's now an actual setting in the modem to enable it.

Anyways, let me know if you T25 modem users have seen any improvment in the connection reliability or even performance with the new push of this new firmware.

After this FW upgrade (TS11.02.057.12_092820_711PC20.03) was pushed to the cable modem, Internet service was down (had to power cycle modem), download speeds have reduced from 940 Mbps to 850 Mbps.

Anyone seen the same?

I have had similar luck so far.  It has been a while since I have had to reboot my modem, so I looked today and I had the updated firmware with the requirement to change my login password.  I received it on 12/3 according to the log. Very happy now, but so disappointed that it took Comcast so long to push it.

Where is Comcast in these Forums??? They are missing huge opportunities to relate to their customers.

@PAJoeS, is that over WiFi?? If it is, then that’s still pretty decent speeds. But not so good if that’s over Ethernet, did you already try a hard reset?
For anyone reading this, you can easily hard reset this modem by using a paper clip, use it to push and hold the reset button in the pin hole located in the back of the modem, when you see all the LEDs turn off, continue to hold it for 10 more seconds and then let go. Make sure to wait several minutes after the modem is back online to allow it to settle before you try conducting another speed test.

I have 1 Gig service as well and my iPhone 11 which is WiFi6 (802.11 AX) doesn’t usually get more than ~520Mbps vía the Speedtest mobile app. Anything hardwired to my router gets a little more, about 600-800Mbps. Only couple times I seen it hit over 900Mbps but I’ll still take it.

@ThePontiac72  Greetings.

877Mbps at 802.11ax Wi‑Fi 6 with 2x2 MIMO is _TOP_ speed in a perfect environment n your iPhone. Depending on your AP's (assuming that you are using Comcast gear) 520Mbps is not bad. If you are running multiple devices on your network, downloads from 600-800 would be expected hardwired as well, unless you have the latest hardware and set up properly, of which I would expect 800-900 as normal. It is still smoking fast and should perform to your liking.

My new firmware on the T25 has taken me down from (900+ from speakeasy.net down to lower 800's to upper 700's. And on Comcast speed test, I get lower 900's as the norm.  Did you put in some throttling in on that last firmware Comcast???  I have a kick-butt backend network and is enterprise-class as FYI.

Try these and see where you land:

I'm unable to log into my modem. Not exactly sure when it happened, but the entire modem is now protected with a login page so I can't get any information off of it anymore. Very frustrating. I've tried admin/password, which didn't work. Also, tried various subsets of the serial #, but maybe I've done something wrong. Modem seems a bit more stable in that when it goes down (usually in the AM on Monday - after Sunday midnight), it only stays down for a little while.
