If you have an XB8 there's nothing to upgrade to unless you want features you can't get from Comcast equipment or consumer grade equipment in general.  Pods will work with an XB8 no problem.  You might have my problem.  Some parts of Comcast's system think I still have the 150Mb Internet service I signed up for back in 2017.  I have 1200/35 now and get appropriate speeds, but parts of Comcast's web site still think I have 150.
