Public IP change and Customer Service

I've been trying to have my public IP changed. I left my modem off for 24 hours, but Comcast keeps giving me the same address. I called customer several times, but they are clueless as to how to do it. They open tickets and close them without my approval, then tell me to call so-on, so-forth number.

How can I have my public IP changed? I'm getting hit by so many DoS attacks and they take down my network everyday.

Customer service can't / won't do it..

If you are using a router that has a MAC address cloning feature, you can clone a different MAC address into it. This will force a change of your Comcast assigned WAN / public IP address.

Thank you for your reply. It would have been nice of customer service to just admit that they can't/won't do it, but they sent me on a wild goose chase instead. I guess it's my fault to expect anything else from a company like Comcast.
