PS5 network issues

I’m currently at my wits end with this problem. I have Xfinity gig on fiber with a black ONT that the fiber line from the pole connects to then via a Ethernet cable connects to a XB7-T gateway via the 2.5Gbps port on the back. Everything worked perfectly fine for the first couple of months now all of a sudden my friends list disappears randomly saying I’m offline, can’t see store pages or any trophy pictures. But if I load into a game I can still play online like nothing is wrong. I have to constantly go to network setting and do connection test just to get everything working again but only works for so long before it happens again.

I have already swapped out the gateway for another XB7-T and the problem persists. I have tried it all swapping Ethernet cables on all devices, tried static ip on the console and even port forwarding and nothing fixes it!!! Ps5 is the only device with this problem. I’ve tried multiple ps5s and they all have this issue on my connection. If I switch the ps5 to my phones hotspot the issues never appear.

This is aggravating the heck out of me

As someone who recently upgraded to xfinity i have 2 ps5s on the same internet, however i bought a deco mesh system set static ip and port forwarding for the 1 Ps5, the other i set up using the xfinity wifi and set port forwarding for it(obviously different than the other) the problem has went away since doing this.

I think it was getting interference from 1 to the other also i couldn't find any way to set a static ip address thru the xfinity app. I even have their pod device to beam the signal closer to both ps5s. Nothing worked until using that deco mesh system to set static ip address and different ports for each machine. It's ran flawless since.

Still no resolution. Had a tech came out and he found nothing wrong with my setup and all signals were fine and even he was at a loss with this problem. After doing a lot of online searching it appears to be an issue with the XB7 and how it handles IPv4 and IPv6. All PlayStation games use IPv6 for online play which I’ve never had an issue launching a game and playing online. But the PlayStation network side of things use IPv4 and that’s where the issue lies. There is some issue with a recent firmware update to the XB7 that broke this cause this was not happening to me 4-5 months ago.

Thank you for your feedback, @user_nzzq4p. The XB7 Xfinity gateway uses duel stack and both IPv4 and IPv6.

Well something has changed. 0 issues the first 4 months and now all of a sudden this is a problem which leads me to think it was a firmware update and perhaps there’s a setting in the XB7 that needs to be changed in the admin page when it comes to IPv4/IPV6. I did find a solution that seems to be fixing it with the XB7 and people are posting it seems to have fixed the issue for them and I am going to try it.

The solution I posted above with going to admin page and unchecking the stateful box worked. I haven’t had any issues since I did it.
