Provisioning signal

After today’s outage, my router won’t work. The error is dhcp not working correctly. I saw past threads saying a provisioning signal sent to the modem fixed the problem. I’ve been trying to get through to a person at Comcast with no luck. I need that signal. See @XfinityChe

Silly question, have you powered down the modem for an extended interval (2ish min)? There are DHCP leases on the Comcast side to your modem. It takes a while for those to release after a cycle. Might be worth a shot if you haven't already done that. At least it is something to do while you wait.

FWIW, this is a known issue that has been going on for quite some time now. You can do a forum search for "your ISP's DHCP is not functioning properly" for more info. There have been various fixes (and also none) for this but no single universal solution unfortunately...

I powered both the modem and router off for about an hour. Then I powered up the modem and waited until it connected before powering up the router. Success....but the wifi network isn't visible for some reason. Now I have to figure that out. Thanks!

Using ASUS RT-AC3100 router.

Nevermind, my big stupid thumb must have hit the wifi off button in front. LOL!
