pro wifi extender "needs attention"

I recently received a new XB8 Gateway and the associated Pro WiFi Extender. The gateway activated without issue and is working fine, but the extender "needs attention." I have tried activating it in various locations and have gone through all of the recommended troubleshooting steps, but it doesn't seem to be working. It has a flashing white light on the device.

Could it be a faulty piece of equipment, or am I missing some obvious step for setting up the extender?

Edited to add: It is now occasionally flashing red then going back to flashing white.

IAMuser_6ffc17 Thanks for creating a post on our Forums. If the extender is blinking white, it normally means it is having trouble pairing to your gateway or is searching for the WiFi signal. With your update that it flashes red now and then as well, that would be a loss in connection altogether. How far away is your extender from the gateway, and is there a clear line of sight between the two? Just for the initial setup, I would recommend having them both out in the open (not tucked in an entertainment system or behind anything else) and performing a full restart on the extender by pushing the small button on the back of it.

Firmware update 4.4.3.3-02-gf7526d-gpm8.0p24s1-20260811155230 bricked my 6 WiFi extenders, not pro, but the timing is the same.
