Power Utility Dependency

Our commercial power was out for three days and (therefor) so was our Comcast Internet. Our local batteries, solar and generator were keeping us in power, but sadly no Internet service. Is this the way it will always be, no power no Internet?

user_y5wgei I'm sorry to hear that you were without services for several days, but I'm glad to hear that you have a backup plan to provide power for your home. Most of the time, if there is a power loss in an area, our local technicians coordinate with utility companies to restore power first, and then our techs can begin assessing damage and repairs to the network. There are backups at the network plants; however, to fully be able to provide service to the surrounding area, local power needs to be restored first.
