Port forwarding

my xb7 is in gateway mode. am i limited to using an IP address from the DHCP pool to create a port forwarding configuraiton for a host on my inside network? BTW I will have to do a NAT on my firewall that is upsteam of the xb7 since the XB7 is not smart enough to support static routes internally to my network.
