Port forwarding just not opening port

I am trying to host a minecraft server with my friend, and yesterday the port forward worked, but now today its just not working. When i check to see if the port (25565) is open, it says it is closed even though I have the port forwarded in the xfinity menu. Before you ask here is what i have done

-Read the xfinity guide on how to portforward, didnt help

- restarted gateway multiple times

-Checked my own firewalls, even thought that wouldnt be the thing considering theyve worked for years

-Tried forwarding on the app and the website

Just seems like the port forwarding feature just doesnt like to work with xfinity. If anyone has a solution lmk.
