Plant extension Hwy 161 S
Hello,
I am writing to request a formal serviceability and site survey ticket from the local outside plant (OSP) engineering team.
Comcast is currently laying new fiber along Highway 161 South, Scott, Arkansas right next to my neighborhood. Our pocket consists of 5 homes that are completely unserved by wireline high-speed internet; we currently rely solely on cellular or satellite data.
While the farthest home in our group is about 1/3- 1/2 mile from the highway, the nearest home is closer than that distance from where the new fiber line is being laid.
Since construction crews and machinery are already physically deployed on the adjacent highway, we would like to request a plant extension to bring a mainline tap into our cluster of homes. I can immediately confirm that at least 2 to 3 of the households are ready to sign up for Xfinity service the moment the line becomes active.
Could a Digital Care team member please help me open an OSP engineering ticket to evaluate this neighborhood extension? I am happy to provide the specific coordinates and addresses via Direct Message.
Thank you!

@user_drjb8j Our team can get a serviceability ticket submitted for you. Typically, with plant extensions there is usually a cost to the customer just so you're aware. Once that ticket is submitted that team will conduct a survey then email you the results and move forward with the project if they are able to. If you could please send me a DM with your first and last name along with your full-service address, a good contact number and email address, we can get that ticket started.
To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon in the top right corner
Click the "Start new conversation" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it
