Plan is Gigabit 1000Mbps download but upload speed seems locked at around 40Mbps, have latest gateway xb7

As the plan states, my gigaplan agreement suggest I should have a faster upload speed.  When I test this using speedtest.net on my phone right next to the gateway, the upload is at around 40Mbps max.

shonenh8 Where you circled shows is the download speed (1000 Mbps) for the Gigabit speed tier. It also comes with 35 Mbps upload as well. Customers in the Next Gen areas with Gigabit receive 1.1Gps download speed and 300Mbps upload speeds. Are you in the Next Gen area that you're aware of?

That is a great question.  How do I figure that out?  Our lines are buried under the driveways and we have not had anyone come by to dig it up and replace with fiber.  It has always been coaxial if that's of any help.
